Those of us who have gone through treatment all agree that hair loss issues frighten us and cause us a great deal of anxiety. Most of us remember our mothers, aunts or grandmothers who in the early 60’s and 70’s wore wigs that were thick, heavy and unflattering. Sometimes women will even refuse to look at wigs due to the fact that we do not want to look frumpy and unattractive. However, please allow me to reassure you that this is not the case at Susan’s Special Needs. We have 2,000 wigs in stock, work with 26 different manufacturers and have wigs available in all price ranges. Wigs are made in several modes of construction that are selected in density, fiber content, style and color. Synthetic and Human Hair wigs are available to you. We will show you both choices. We will offer and show you wigs in all modes of construction and price points. We find that the lightweight wigs with a natural skin top are most popular for they resemble natural scalp and look very natural. We will go over your treatment cycle and talk about the hair loss process and assist you in mapping out a plan of action. This plan will include a wig, a sleep cap, perhaps other headwear for casual wear, and products for the scalp and skin. We will also talk about your personal choices and timing for the final fit of this wig. We recognize that you, our client, are in the driver’s seat on this issue. We will guide you and assist you in making all these decisions. We are your guideposts. Our store is open 6 days a week and can accommodate your schedule easily. Please note that we also have a donation wig bank. We accept donations of wigs previously worn and have clarified that they have been cared for as set by the guidelines of the American Cancer Society. If appropriate, these wigs are free of charge to you.
